Two World Firsts – The first ever Ace with a Disc Golf UK disc and the first ace at The Belfry (yes… that Belfry…)

We wouldn’t normally Blog about an ace but this one was a little bit special.

This morning whilst on an early morning tee sign designing trip with artwork extraordinaire Andrew Douse of Live Love Throw designs an Ace was thrown with a Disc Golf UK Glow Baron.  This is the first ever Ace with a Disc Golf UK disc but there are sure to be many many more!  If you hit one let us know with pictures and we will make an Ace Hall of Fame on the website!

View from the tee – Hole one, a tight RHBH hyzer or slight S curve line, around 45 meters.

Now for  the next big news which is where it was thrown!

It seems as good as time as any to announce the Easter opening of Disc Golf UK’s newest course,  drum roll please…… The Belfry, home of the Ryder Cup, one of the top 10 golf resorts in the world and the UK’s number one holiday resort seeing over 1.2 million visitors each year.

There will be a beautifully maintained 9 hole course with woodchipped, banked fairways winding through the bluebells and laurel  in the mature woodland alongside the hotel complex and the Professional Golf Association headquarters.  These woods are used by the Premier League Football teams for pre match team walks before heading out to nearby stadiums and will open up the sport to a whole tranche of new players. The Course uses 9 excellent Prodigy T2 Baskets that catch everything including ace runs!

There will be two tees on each hole, a beginner/family friendly short position and a longer technical tee which will make for a fun round of Disc Golf in a beautiful setting for experienced players as well.

The course will be open to all not just hotel guests.

And if you haven’t yet, sign up for Windmill Leisure MODS tomorrow to pick up your very own ace grabbing Baron!
